Pantherfur, the black queen, was giving birth to two kits. One was a tom and the other was a she-kit. They both have black fur and white stripes, but the she-kit had a white muzzle and paws. The newborn kits startled to suckle and Pantherfur purred and named the tom, Crowkit, and the she-kit, Winterkit.
